Stairway Cinema is an installation by OH.NO.SUMO, an experimental design collective from New Zealand. With Stairway Cinema they are trying to get people who are glued to their smart phones watching all sorts of online content, to reconnect with the people around them. Instead of grabbing a mobile device while waiting for your bus to come, as so many of us do these days, OH.NO.SUMO invites you to watch a short movie in their pop up cinema. Their movie selection is based on internet recommendations found on social networks. So taking a seat in the Stairway Cinema won’t make you miss out on everything hip and happening on the web, but instead makes it possible to share the experience with realtime with real people.
